Wedding venues in and around Turin: an honest guide
Fourteen real wedding venues in Turin and within about an hour of it, each checked on its own website in October 2026: what it is, how many guests it takes, how far it is, and what it is like to photograph.

Looking for wedding venues in Turin, or a "location matrimonio Torino" a short drive out? This guide lists fourteen places that say, on their own websites, that they host weddings today. I checked each one in October 2026 and left out the beautiful places that do not (more on those at the end).
I am a wedding photographer and filmmaker based in Turin. I have worked at the Reggia di Venaria; for the other venues, my photo notes come from the spaces each venue publishes, not from a wedding I shot there. Capacities are the venues' own figures, and drive times are from Piazza Castello without traffic, so add a margin on a Saturday.
Royal residences
The Savoys ringed Turin with palaces, recognised together by UNESCO as World Heritage in 1997. Three of them host weddings today.
Reggia di Venaria Reale, Venaria Reale
The grandest of them: a baroque hunting palace with Juvarra's Galleria Grande and gardens running towards the Alps. Civil ceremonies are held, on request, in the 17th-century Sala di Diana (up to 120 seated); the Galleria Grande seats up to 600 and the Citroniera up to 1,300. About 12 km from the centre, roughly 20 minutes.
For photos: the Galleria Grande is lit by 44 windows and 22 openings in the vault, so it works beautifully without flash (which is not allowed). Professional shoots must be booked as the Reggia's wedding photo service. I have a full guide to a Reggia di Venaria wedding, with Mohammed and Hejrat's day there. lavenaria.it

Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, Nichelino
Juvarra's hunting lodge south of the city, run by the Ordine Mauriziano. The venue offers its halls, including the Sala del Cervo, for wedding receptions, along with the Citroniere, the Salone Centrale and the main courtyard. The Comune di Nichelino celebrates civil weddings at the Palazzina on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm, for €1,600 if you live in Nichelino and €1,850 if you do not. Capacity is not published. About 12 km, 20 minutes.
For photos: long straight avenues lead to the lodge, so arrivals and wide portraits come easily. ordinemauriziano.it
Castello Reale di Govone, Roero
A royal castle above the Tanaro valley that also houses Govone's town hall, so civil weddings are celebrated in the castle itself. The castle offers the Salone d'Onore, the park, gardens with box-lined paths, a greenhouse (the Serra), the Royal Chapel and the south lawn. It is one of the few venues that publishes prices: in its 2023 rules, the Serra costs €250 in summer and €300 in winter, the flower garden €550, the south side of the castle €1,500 to €2,000 for an evening, and the Salone d'Onore €500, with no catering allowed there. Wedding photos outside are free; inside they cost €250 a day. About 60 km, just over an hour.
For photos: box hedges, a greenhouse and the royal rooms give variety within a short walk. castellorealedigovone.it
In the city: historic palazzi
Palazzo Madama and the Comune's historic rooms
For a legal ceremony in central Turin, the Comune di Torino offers five historic rooms on Saturday afternoons: Palazzo Civico (Sala dei Marmi, €800), Palazzo Madama, the Accademia delle Scienze, the Museo del Risorgimento and Teatro Carignano (€2,000 each). Palazzo Madama, with Juvarra's baroque façade and staircase, is the best known. These are ceremony rooms only, and capacities vary by room, so the dinner happens elsewhere. Book through matrimoniaulici@comune.torino.it.
For photos: Piazza Castello, the arcades and the river are all within walking distance, so portraits can start on the doorstep. comune.torino.it
Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana, Turin
A baroque palazzo in the Quadrilatero, near the Consolata, that opens its piano nobile, its former theatre and its courtyard with loggia for wedding lunches and receptions. It seats up to 120 for dinner (no more than 50 in a single room) and takes up to 200 for a standing buffet. There is no ceremony on site; a historic room of the Comune is a few minutes away.
For photos: a courtyard and loggia for the aperitivo, and the old streets of the Quadrilatero outside the door. palazzosaluzzopaesana.it

Villas on the Turin hill
The hill across the Po is Turin's green side: villas, gardens and views back over the city to the Alps, ten or fifteen minutes from the centre.
Villa Sassi
A villa at the foot of the Superga hill whose oldest rooms date back to the early 1600s, with a 22-hectare park and a formal parterre. The Salone d'Oriente takes 250 people and opens onto a covered portico; the Salone di Mezzogiorno with the Quadreria takes 200 (the venue does not say whether seated). The villa has its own wedding planners. It is not on the Comune's list of civil ceremony sites, so plan a symbolic ceremony or marry in town first. About 7 km, 15 minutes.
For photos: the covered portico over the parterre is a ready-made rain plan, and the park gives shade and privacy at any hour. villasassitorino.it
Villa Somis
A private villa on the hill above Cavoretto with a garden, gazebo, panoramic terrace and indoor rooms, booked for one wedding at a time. The venue promises a view of Turin and of Monviso. Capacity is not published. The venue says civil and symbolic rites are possible; Turin's official list does not include it, so confirm with the Comune before planning a legal ceremony there. About 6 km, 15 minutes.

Castles and estates within about an hour
Castello di Masino (FAI), Caravino
A castle in the Canavese owned by FAI, the Italian National Trust, with frescoed rooms, a lemon terrace and a park of over 40 hectares with a maze. The castle is also a designated town hall, so civil ceremonies can be held there: up to 150 guests in the Giardino dei Cipressi. Meals: 120 in the Salone degli Stemmi, 150 in the Palazzo delle Carrozze, 300 on the Terrazzo dei Limoni (500 for a buffet). A church at the foot of the estate serves religious ceremonies. About 53 km, under an hour.
For photos: frescoed salons, a huge park with a maze, and photo shoots hosted on request. fondoambiente.it
Castello di Pralormo
A castle still lived in by its family, south-east of Turin, that gives its English landscape park to one couple for the whole day. Seating: 130 in the Orangerie (plus 100 more in a marquee outside), 200 in the stables, 130 in the Tinaggio and 200 in the old barn. You choose your own caterer and suppliers. The castle says it is authorised for civil ceremonies, under its portico or on the lawn of the statues. About 36 km, 40 minutes.
For photos: an English park is the most forgiving setting I know for portraits: open shade, long lawns, no crowds. castellodipralormo.com
Castello di Montaldo, Montaldo Torinese
A castle hotel in the hills east of the city, with a spa. Two halls, du Château and Crotin, take up to 250 guests, and in summer lunch can be served outside. The venue says civil ceremonies can be held in the castle, and the parish church is next door. About 20 km, 35 minutes.
For photos: guests can stay on site, which makes a calm getting-ready and a late party. castellodimontaldo.it
Castello Cavour, Santena
The family castle of Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, now run by a foundation. Weddings use the Palazzo delle Scuderie, which takes up to 260 guests, and the English park; the Sala Diplomatica is offered as a backdrop for photographs. You can use their caterer or your own. About 23 km, 30 minutes.
For photos: a historic interior plus a landscape park, close enough to Turin to fit a city ceremony in the same day. fondazionecavour.it
Castello di Pavone, Pavone Canavese
A medieval castle hotel near Ivrea, about 500 m from the A5 motorway exit. The rose garden takes up to 300 guests and the restaurant up to 400, with a noble courtyard and frescoed rooms. About 51 km, 45 minutes.
For photos: stone courtyards and frescoes inside, a rose garden outside: good cover if the weather turns. castellodipavone.com
Sina Villa Matilde, Romano Canavese
A villa hotel set in a park, with a chapel for smaller religious weddings and courtyards for symbolic ceremonies. The Salone Reale seats 110 for dinner (250 for a cocktail), and the 1,200 m² garden takes up to 500 standing. About 43 km, 40 minutes.
For photos: park, cloister and chapel within a few steps, which keeps the timeline relaxed. sinahotels.com
Castello di Guarene, Roero
A castle hotel on a hilltop in the Roero, with 18th-century frescoed rooms, a Salone d'Onore for the banquet, Italian gardens for the aperitivo and a panoramic spa. Capacity is not published. About 57 km, an hour.
For photos: formal Italian gardens and vineyard hills all around; in autumn the vines turn gold. castellodiguarene.com

How to choose, from behind the camera
- Light: a venue with both a big interior and open shade outside (a park, a portico, tall hedges) gives you good photographs at any hour and in any weather.
- Time: every move between ceremony and reception costs at least 30 to 60 minutes. One place for everything, or two places close together, leaves more time for you and your guests.
- Sunset: in June the sun sets around 9.15 pm in Turin, so golden hour falls during dinner. Pick a venue where a ten-minute walk takes you somewhere beautiful.
- Rules: museums and castles often limit flash, drones and the areas you can use. Ask early, in writing.
Places that did not make the list
Some famous residences around Turin are not here because I could not find an official page saying they host weddings today: the castles of Racconigi, Agliè, Moncalieri and Rivoli, Villa della Regina and the Borgo Castello della Mandria. For a civil ceremony only, the Comune di Rivarolo Canavese celebrates weddings at the Castello Malgrà on Saturday mornings from May to October, for €300 if one of you lives there and €500 if not.
FAQ
Which venues near Turin can host a legal civil wedding?
Confirmed by the Comune or FAI: the Reggia di Venaria (Sala di Diana), the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, the Castello Reale di Govone, the Castello di Masino and the Comune di Torino's five historic rooms. Pralormo and Montaldo say they are authorised. Elsewhere, marry at a town hall first or hold a symbolic ceremony. Always ask which Comune office celebrates on site.
How much does a wedding venue near Turin cost?
Few venues publish prices. Govone lists its spaces from €250 to €2,000, the Comune di Nichelino charges €1,600 or €1,850 for a civil ceremony at Stupinigi, and Turin's historic rooms cost €800 or €2,000. The others quote on request, usually depending on season, guest numbers and catering.
Can we marry in Turin and celebrate at a villa outside the city?
Yes, and it is one of the easiest plans. The Comune di Torino marries couples on Saturday mornings in the Sala Juvarra and on Saturday afternoons in its historic rooms; from there a hill villa is about 15 minutes away and most castles under an hour. Leave enough time for the drive and for portraits on the way.
Which venues near Turin have rooms for guests?
Castello di Montaldo, Castello di Pavone, Sina Villa Matilde and Castello di Guarene are hotels, and Pralormo has five rural suites. Staying on site makes the getting-ready calmer and the end of the night easier, and it lets me photograph both of you without long drives in between.
What is the best wedding venue near Turin for photos?
It depends on your style. For grand interiors, the Reggia di Venaria's Galleria Grande is hard to beat. For a relaxed, green day, a castle with a landscape park, such as Pralormo, Masino or Santena. For views over the city, the hill villas. Tell me your date and I will tell you what the light does there at your hour.
When should we book a venue near Turin?
Venues set their own calendars, so ask yours first. For photography and film, I suggest booking 9 to 15 months ahead for a Saturday between May and September. Royal residences also host public events and exhibitions, so check that your date is free before you fall in love with it.
Planning a wedding near Turin?
Once you have a shortlist, send me your date and venue. I photograph and film weddings myself, on one timeline, in English, Italian, Russian, Turkish or Azerbaijani, and I reply personally within a day or two. See real weddings, then write to me; I share my collections and prices personally. If Turin itself is your base, my Turin wedding page covers ceremonies, light and a sample day.
